Grades are as follow:
Summative 40% (Tests, quizzes, projects & presentations)
Formative 30% (Entrance/exit slips, daily class work, homework, binder resource)
Participation 30% (active engagement, positive attitude, Spanish communication, preparedness)
Supplies: textbook, workbook, pencil, binder, mask/face cover, and a growth mindset.
Class expectations:
Cell phones are welcome when used for in class activities. Your teacher will let you know when they can be out and in use. Otherwise, OUT OF SIGHT and SILENCED is the rule of thumb.
Translators are not allowed, and tend to lead to more errors than clear communication. On the other hand, dictionaries, online or hard copy, are a great tool to help you expand your communication skills.
10-10 Rule. You may not leave the room during the first and last 10 minutes of the class period. Students must arrive to class on time and use passing periods wisely. Communicate to your teacher about emergency situations.
5 Ps & 1K: be prompt, be prepared, be positive, be productive, be polite, be kind.
Assignments and late work:
Assignments must be an original work completed by you and due dates are final.
Assignments should be turned into the class tray for your period or correct Teams Channel.
10% will be deducted for each day an assignment is late.
Late assignments will not be accepted after a week from the original due date.
Attendance and absences:
Use the class wesite, Microsoft Teams App and/or classroom absence folders to check your missed work.
Seek help from classmates or teacher if something is unclear. Be proactive about your missed work!
Assignment extension to absence ratio: If you were missing one day, you have one day to make it up. If you were missing two days, you have two days to make it up.
Interventions and discipline:
Verbal warning
Discussion with the teacher
